Shea Butter FAQ
- What are your ingredients?
We used 100% African shea butter along with various other natural oils that help to keep skin moisturized and assist with skin issues. You can view our full ingredient list in the product description.
2. What does "whipped" mean?
Whipped just means that we have incorporated air into the shea butter mixture using a mixer to create a fluffy and light weight cream for you to moisturize your skin with.
3. I have sensitive skin, can I use your products?
It depends on your skin. Everyone's skin is different and although our products are made with skin friendly fragrances and oils, we always recommend doing a test patch on a small portion of your skin to see how you react. We also have a product called "Just Buttah" that has absolutely no added fragrance or colorant and has been specially formulated for those with super sensitive skin.
4. Where does the color come from?
We use mica power which is a naturally occurring mineral to color our shea butter.
5. Will the color stain my clothes?
No, the color will not stain your clothes as you cannot see it once it is applied to the skin. It only leaves a light sparkle that fade with time.
6. My butter arrived melted, has it gone bad? What should I do?
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the product being able to melt at high temperatures it is possible for the shea butter to melt if it has been in intense heat for a while. However, this does not change how the product works only the look of it. Once it is melted it may appear that there is less product but this is only because the air is no longer "whipped" once it becomes a liquid. To remedy this just put it in the refrigerator for a few hours for it to firm back up. It will then be able to sit at room temperature for the life of the product. It will still perform the same. If you desired to have the "whipped" look back simply take a hand mixer and whip the product for a few minutes until the air is incorporated back in. It is best to pour it in another vessel unless you have a mixer small enough.
Please know that we are looking into the most effective way to ship your butter so that it will not arrive to you melted. We are currently working on methods that will lessen this occurrence; however, we cannot guarantee in hot temperatures (typically summer months) that it will not melt. Once we ship it off, it is in the hands of the mail carrier and if it is sitting in a warehouse or the back of a hot mail truck waiting to be delivered, it could melt. We appreciate your patience with this matter.
